2018 has had me in a whirl of emotion and change. Between home, health, financial issues, transportation, anxiety... I've got something going on in just about every sector. It's also the year my child becomes a teen, which is also loaded with emotion for me. The other day a friend recommended a book for me and I can't wait to dive into it.
I just picked up Dr. Stuart Shanker's Self-Reg: How to Help Your Child (And You) Break the Stress Cycle and Successfully Engage with Life and I'm alredy so intrigued. For one thing, it helps to know that you're not only not alone, but what you are experiencing is common. So many friends keep telling me that my diagnosis is common, yet it's such a life-changing thing that I have so much anxiety around it. I've only lived with a chronic condition for two months and it feels like it's been two years already. I'm really looking forward to seeing if Dr. Shanker's book can help.
