In 2018, I feel head over heels with Marissa Meyer's The Lunar Chronicles. Since then I've been reading all of her books, and while I've liked many, those remain my favorites. I was overjoyed to hear that the books are getting new covers next year and Meyer is going on tour to promote them. There will be a stop about an hour away from me and I'm definitely going to try to buy a book and get her autograph.
If you're unfamiliar with The Lunar Chronicles, it's a series of four books (plus short stories, graphic novels, etc.) that could basically be summed up as fairy tales written in a Star Wars setting. A cyborg version of Cinderella is at the heart of it, as is a farmer Red Riding Hood, hacker Rapunzel and princess with mental illness Snow White. All of the characters are culturally diverse, the setting and action are brilliant and the revolution is actually paced well, which is really hard to do. The characters are what truly make it special, though.
Have your read the series? Will you be visiting Meyer while she's touring?
