Yes, there's the annual Goodreads Challenge, which is simple enough: you simply choose a number of books you hope to read in the New Year and attempt to meet that goal before the clock strikes midnight on December 31, 2019. For some, that's enough, and those of us who do a Goodreads Challenge often increase our quota each year as a personal challenge.
But some people really want more, opting for various challenges that allow you to try out new genres, push beyond your typical reading patterns and really push your boundaries. One new book challenge, the one from the Homeschool Curriculum company Build Your Library, which is formulated around a Charlotte Mason style methodology that's also secular in nature, offers a unique way to track your reading with challenges like reading a book whose cover you wrongly judged. Little challenges like these are almost like fun book scavenger hunts!
What reading challenge are you embarking on in 2019? Tell us about it in the chat. Share links to your challenges so we can join in, too!
